Today, Madaniya is a collective that encompasses more than 200 organisations, spanning all sectors and geographical locations. Members of Madaniya are spread across all regions of Syria. They operate in neighbouring countries, as well as in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States and Canada.
We continue to mobilise Syrian civic actors inside and outside Syria across all sectors and geographies.

Access Center for Human Rights (ACHR)
The Access Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) is a non-profit organization founded by Syrian refugees in Lebanon in 2017 and later registered in France in 2020. Led by professionals in law, human rights, and journalism, ACHR advocates for refugee rights, investigates human rights violations, and promotes the rule of law. It remains independent, non-sectarian, and committed to ensuring the voluntary, dignified, and safe return of refugees.

Al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support
Al-Ameen is a humanitarian organization operating in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, and Sudan, committed to ensuring transparent and accountable aid delivery. It conducts needs assessments, coordinates with local and international organizations, and implements projects to address critical gaps. Al-Ameen also focuses on governance, human rights awareness, and empowering civil society to enhance humanitarian response and advocacy.

AlJumhuriya.net was founded in March 2012 by Syrian writers and academics as a platform for Syrians to express their perspectives on the revolution and ongoing conflict. Committed to independence, it advocates for a democratic and just future while remaining unaffiliated with any political entity.

The Amal Recovery and Advocacy Center (AHAC) is a women-led organization founded in 2014 in Antakya, Turkey, to support Syrian refugee women and survivors of violence. It focuses on empowering women suffering from psychological effects of social and sexual violence, raising awareness of their rights. AHAC advocates for a Syrian society based on justice, equal human rights, and an independent civil state.

Amal Organization
Amal is a Syrian non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in early 2013 in the northern countryside of Homs. Officially registered in Gaziantep, Turkey, in 2014, it provides life-saving assistance, strengthens resilience, and advocates for the rights of vulnerable groups. The organization also offers recovery programs to help rebuild war-torn societies. -
Analysis & Strategic Study Organization (ASO)
ASO is a non-profit group in Northeastern Syria & Kurdistan Region of Iraq, promoting human rights, freedom, and democracy. It enhances governance, peace-building, and conflict resolution, focusing on youth, women, and civil society. ASO established the NES NGO Platform with over 148 organizations and conducts initiatives for peace, dialogue, and inclusive governance.

Association of Detainees and Missing Persons in Saydnaya Prison (ADMSP)
Founded in 2017 by survivors, victims, and families of Seydnayah Prison detainees, the association works to uncover the truth and seek justice for those detained for political reasons. It focuses on documenting detainees' information and supporting families of the missing, while raising awareness on local and international levels. The organization collaborates with human rights groups to investigate and address the issue of detainees and missing persons in Seydnayah.

Association of Victims of Chemical Weapons (AVCW)
The Association of Victims of Chemical Weapons was formed by survivors, victims, and families affected by Bashar al-Assad’s regime's use of chemical weapons against civilians. The association seeks to hold accountable those responsible for these atrocities, support investigations, and raise global awareness about the regime’s chemical crimes. It also advocates for the rights of victims, honors their memory, and collaborates with global efforts to prohibit the use of chemical weapons.

Bahar Organization
Founded in 2012 by medical professionals who fled Syria, Bahar Organization delivers support in northern Syria and Iraq to address the growing humanitarian needs. Guided by international human rights standards, Bahar promotes interfaith collaboration and works through development, humanitarian aid, and advocacy. The organization ensures that humanitarian principles are respected and implemented at the local level.

Launched in September 2012, Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a refugee-led organization focused on addressing the urgent needs of displaced and host communities in Syria. It works on peacebuilding, social cohesion, civil society empowerment, food security, education, and women's rights, aiming to help people regain dignity and control over their lives. The organization identifies gaps left by other aid agencies and supports marginalized Syrian refugees through various relief and development programs.

Founded on March 12, 2013, in Kobani, Bercav is a non-profit organization focused on democratic development and public interest. It publishes "Bercav" newspaper and "Bercav Magazine" and is active on social media, sharing studies, brochures, and research on democracy, civil society, and development. Bercav also organizes workshops on journalism, political discourse, and social harmony to promote capacity building and civil peace.

Bina is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 and registered in Turkey, with its headquarters in Istanbul. Officially announced in January 2015, Bina focuses on community development and capacity building for Syrians, empowering institutions, youth, and families. It supports Syrian communities through educational, social, and administrative empowerment programs to help individuals discover and invest in their potential.

Caesar Families
The Caesar Families Association (CFA) was established in February 2018 in Berlin by families who lost loved ones to torture and forced disappearance in Syrian regime prisons. The families identified their relatives in the Caesar photos leaked from Syrian detention centers.
CFA unites their voices in demanding truth, justice, and restitution for the victims of these atrocities.

Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA) advocates for a free, democratic, and secular Syria, believing it will lead to a safer America. Its mission is to promote democratic change in Syria, ensuring that its citizens live in a free and prosperous country.
C4SSA speaks out for Syrian civilians affected by conflict, aligning America's Middle Eastern interests with democratic values of liberty, freedom, and equality. -
Civil Administration Center ( SYCAC )
SYCAC is a non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization established in Turkey in 2012. It focuses on increasing civic spaces by empowering communities, protecting marginalized groups, and enhancing the leadership role of women in peace processes and early recovery. SYCAC promotes democracy, human rights, and values such as neutrality, transparency, diversity, responsibility, and equity.

Damma is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2011 by women committed to peace. It provides integrated support for communities, especially women and children, ensuring equal access to services and resources while empowering vulnerable groups. Damma focuses on peacebuilding, humanitarian coexistence, and social stability, aiming to achieve sustainable peace through women's participation and leadership in societal change. -
DAR - Dignity, Actions, Resilience for Peace and Prosperity
DAR is a team of volunteers in Syria and Iraq, working to protect civilians from the effects of war and provide them with the necessary support. With educating local communities, empowering women, protecting children, and supporting community initiatives to reintegrate them, while enhancing awareness and providing local communities with the necessary knowledge. They work on early recovery, governance and peacebuilding, gender equality, food security and protection.

Demos works to instill democratic values, justice, and civil peace in local communities.

Enab Baladi is a nonprofit charitable organization and an independent Syrian media organization that was founded in 2011. EB offers 24-hour news coverage through its multilingual interactive websites, and it publishes a weekly newspaper that covers the Syrian political and social news. It hosts events, provides in-depth research, interviews, investigations, media coverage, and opinion editorials on relevant topics relating to Syria's politics, society, and economy.

Founded in 2011, Ettijahat is a cultural organization dedicated to promoting independent culture in the Arab world. It aims to empower artists and cultural entrepreneurs, fostering social and cultural change, while building strong relationships between culture, art, and society.
The organization supports young researchers, promotes art through regional and international platforms, and works to make culture accessible to wider audiences. -
Fajjet Khuraq Atelier
Fajjet Khuraq is a community initiative inside of Syria aiming to keep alive the traditional techniques used in making rag rugs in the way that the previous generations used to make.
They hosts regular workshops to encourage other members of the community to make handmade rugs and other coverings using looms or hooks. They rely entirely on reusing unwanted rags and fabrics. -
Families for Freedom
Families for Freedom is a women-led movement of Syrian families opposing enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention by the regime and all conflict parties. They aim to mobilize public pressure for compliance with their demands and will not cease until every last Syrian is freed. The movement will expand to include all families with detained or missing members, regardless of religion, political beliefs, or ethnicity.

Fariq Sadaa Alshababii is a youth team concerned with raising the level of social and political awareness among young people. It works to provide a safe space for expressing ideas and opinions. Ghaith Volunteer Team is a group of youth focused on community issues, advocating for causes, and solving problems.
They promote social cohesion through projects like protests, relief efforts, training, and education, including a virtual school. -
Gharsah Association
Gharsah Association supports 240 children and 500 women annually, focusing on empowering Syrian refugees in Lebanon. They help children regain academic skills and support women in strengthening their roles within their families. Gharsah also conducts emergency projects, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic or winter floods.

Global Organization for Civil Society Advancement
Founded in northern Syria, GLOCA is a Syrian NGO focused on providing technology and education to refugees.
Their goal is to become the largest capacity-building and youth organization, offering training and volunteer opportunities for over 8,000 young people aged 18-39, leveraging platforms like Microsoft Office and other technologies.

Hamzet Wasel for Social Development aims to provide a safe, nurturing environment to help Syrian refugees adjust to local host communities, achieve positive social and psychological results and mitigate PTSD relapses. It runs a project called Happiness Again, founded in 2014 and is based in Amman, Jordan. -
Hand in Hand for Aid and Development - HIHFAD
HIHFAD works on the ground in Syria's hardest-hit areas. They rebuild the vital resources and infrastructure destroyed by the crisis. Their focus is on helping Syrian communities to regain the skills, confidence and dignity to rebuild their own lives. They support families to recover from this disastrous situation, creating opportunities for sustainable long-term livelihoods with a focus on the most vulnerable: including Syria’s children, the disabled, elderly and female-headed households.

The Syrian Committee, active since the start of the Syrian conflict, works to promote a free and safe Syria by shedding light on the humanitarian disaster through media and public actions like demonstrations, debates, and cultural events. They provide humanitarian support to war victims and refugees, strengthen dialogue among Syrian opposition groups, and lobby the Dutch government while collaborating with other organizations in the Netherlands. -
Hdf Organization
Hdf Organization is a humanitarian nonprofit organization based in Raqqa that works on community awareness through trainings and capacity building workshops for young people.
It also provides community aid such as distributing clothes to school children and other projects with the aim to create an active and stable community for the future. -
Home Revival Initiative
The Home Revival Initiative, founded to promote democracy, law, and equal citizenship in Syria, aims to restore the civilizational role of the Syrian people and state. They support the Geneva 1 statement and other international resolutions as a reference for a political solution and transitional phase led by Syrians without bloodshed. The initiative works to unite national forces for the political transition and the foundation of a modern Syria.

Huquqyat is a women-led organization of lawyers working to make justice processes in Syria more inclusive of the gendered impacts of international crimes.
They focus on promoting gender-sensitive approaches in legal work and aiming to influence global justice frameworks. -
Hurras Network
Syrian Child Protection Network (Hurras) was founded in 2012 to provide urgent protection for Syrian children affected by the war. It became an official organization in 2015, with operations across Syria & Turkey. It focuses on protecting children from the impact of the conflict, operating in various regions, including Idlib & Aleppo. -
International Humanitrian Relief
International Humanitarian Relief was founded by Syrian expatriate businessmen and doctors to assist vulnerable groups like orphans and widows. Over time, their mission expanded to support refugees and host communities, with offices in Lebanon, Turkey, Erbil, and the U.S. They focus on housing, water sanitation, health, education, and winter response projects. -
Judy Organization for Relief and Development (JORD)
Judy Organization for Relief and Development (JORD) is a national, non-profit organization founded in 2012.
They focus on humanitarian relief, education, livelihood, child protection, and supporting missing Syrians, while also enhancing community development through educational services and awareness programs. -
Jusoor Studies Center
Jusoor was established in 2016 to provide credible, systematic research on Syria, filling the gap in reliable information amidst the ongoing conflict. The organization produces objective, detailed research for policymakers and facilitates communication between local communities and decision-makers to promote better policy and outcomes. -
Justice for Life
Justice for Life is a non-profit Syrian legal organization dedicated to promoting human rights in Syria. It publishes reports on violations and legal frameworks, conducts capacity-building workshops, and mobilizes public opinion to raise awareness of human rights. JFL advocates for survivors and victims' families, aiming to increase political and civil participation in local communities.

JFP was established in 2013 and registered in Turkey. It works to support alternative institutions emerging from the Syrian uprising by offering legal and administrative expertise, aiming to build a just society based on law, justice, democracy, and human rights. JFP's team includes 50 lawyers, judges, and advisors across Syria and refugee-hosting countries.

Kesh Malek believes in Syrians' right to freedom, dignity, and justice, viewing the Syrian revolution as key to fighting dictatorship and extremism. Local Councils Unit, established in February 2013 by Syrian experts, focuses on empowering local communities to manage their affairs and resources through effective local governance. Initially part of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, it later evolved into a non-governmental, independent organization. The unit works with local councils, civil society organizations, and international partners to strengthen local administration and governance for a better future in Syria. -
Local Development and Small-Projects Support (LDSPS)
Local Development & Small-Projects Support (LDSPS) aims to assist Syrians in their pursuit of freedom and dignity through local projects and activities.
They focus on raising awareness about violations, supporting civil society organizations, improving public services, and promoting local participation across regions such as North-Eastern Aleppo, Greater Idlib, and Ghouta.
Their goal is to foster a sustainable, democratic system that reflects the aspirations of all Syrians. -
Mari Organization
Mari Center for Research and Studies is an independent, non-profit Syrian research institution focused on political, economic, social, military, and security studies related to Syria. It provides consultations, training, and produces scientific research to support decision-makers and Syrian institutions.
The center aims to offer solutions, launch political projects, and enhance human resource development through partnerships and strategic recommendations. -
MARS (Multiple Action to Rebuild Society)
MARS is a neutral, non-profit civil society organization founded in 2012 by activists committed to justice, democracy, and human rights. Registered in Turkey, with branches in Syria and other countries. MARS aims to protect civilians, support local communities, promote peace, and empower children through capacity-building initiatives and knowledge sharing.

MedGlobal, founded in 2017, is a humanitarian NGO that provides emergency health programs and builds resilience in vulnerable communities affected by wars, disasters, and displacement. With a diverse team of healthcare professionals, MedGlobal partners with local communities to address health needs, deliver training, and deploy medical volunteers and supplies. Their field teams operate across North and Latin America, Africa, MENA, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

MIDMAR focuses on empowering communities by enhancing social capital and mobility. Their projects aim to better utilize resources, improve skills, and foster collective values, while transforming community relationships into participatory ones.
They achieve this through three main programs: community empowerment, economic empowerment and innovation, and civil society empowerment. -
Molham Volunteering Team
Molham Team, founded in 2012 by Syrian university students, started as a volunteer initiative to provide aid to Syrian refugees in neighboring countries. With over 300 volunteers and around 70 employees, the team now operates globally, delivering food, shelter, and medical aid. The team established a nonprofit organization with offices in Turkey, Germany, Sweden, and Canada, aiming to build a solid, non-political institutional framework for their humanitarian efforts.

Multi aid Programs MAPs
Multi Aid Programs (MAPs), established in 2013 and registered in Lebanon, focuses on providing health, relief, and education to marginalized communities, including Syrian refugees, vulnerable Lebanese, and Palestinians. With 326 volunteers, MAPs designs programs that empower displaced Syrians, many of whom are involved in creating and implementing these initiatives. This approach builds their capacity and fosters community engagement.

Najoon
From the will of the survivors from Syrian prisons and their passion for life and action, Najoon established the Al-Ma'arri project, was inspired by their intellectual roots and the belief in the power of the mind, as expressed by Al-Ma'arri.
It aims to restore the connection between survivors and their homeland, Syria, with a vision for a free, democratic, and pluralistic country, rejecting submission and embracing resilience and action. -
Multifaith Alliance
Founded in 2013, Multifaith Alliance (MFA) is the largest interfaith response to the Syrian crisis, with over 100 partners.
Since 2014, MFA has provided over $415M in aid to nearly 4M beneficiaries in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Turkey, offering food, medical supplies, and WASH projects while advocating for humane refugee policies and regional partnerships.

Naseej
Naseej is a nonprofit independent non-governmental organization, aiming to enhance competencies and build the capacities of civil society and form local networks. It does this by providing trainings including on women empowerment, discrimination and opening discussions on various topics such as the meaning of citizenship and the way the feminist movement can be shaped.

Nextep Organization, founded in 2021 in Qamishli, is a non-governmental, non-profit group led by young men and women who have experienced the Syrian war firsthand.
With backgrounds in journalism and humanitarian work, they believe change must come from within. Nextep focuses on development, peacebuilding, and information-sharing to foster a peaceful, evolving society. -

Ninhna Quaduha is a group that spread awareness, shares, and coordinates local initiatives for humanitarian response and women's rights advocacy. They also organise local events to these ends. -
Nuon for Peacebuilding
Nuon for Peacebuilding is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by Lebanese and Syrian youth united against war. They aim to end civilian suffering from violence, advocate for peace, and promote human rights and non-violence. -
Observatory of Political and Economic Networks
The Observatory of Political and Economic Networks is a group of Syrian and Arab youth aiming to connect information and knowledge about political, economic, social, security, and military actors in Syria, contributing to a more just society.

Olive Branch is a humanitarian non-profit organization supporting vulnerable communities in and around Syria. Registered in Turkey, it operates hubs in Gaziantep, Amman, Beirut, London, and Hanover. With nearly 500 workers, it focuses on education, protection, livelihoods, and women’s empowerment. It partners with international agencies and funded by individual donors & NGOs.

Organisation Alamman
Alamman Organisation is a project that is part of the Justice and Sustainable Development Organisation. It undertakes several projects to empower youth in the North of Syria including training for women and girls and relief operations in camps. One of their projects is to build houses of hopes for Syrians living in refugee camps, building sustainable houses instead of tents.

Mazaya Women
Mazaya Organization was established on 1/6/2013 in Kafr Nabl, Idlib province, in the liberated northern Syria. It started with a women's center offering vocational courses, weaving, first aid, hairdressing, English language teaching, volunteer work, in addition to awareness sessions for women and various activities. The center received significant interest from the community, especially from women. As a result, Mazaya's management developed the center further, adding new activities and several new courses (literacy, computer, sewing).
The center also included a diverse library containing 5,000 books in various fields (scientific, literary, philosophical, historical, economic, social, psychological), which attracted good interest. Books were loaned out to women to read and broaden their knowledge. -

Musawat, or Equality, is a Syrian non-profit organisation that aims to sew values of equality and justice in society. They raise awareness on various issues concerning women's rights and address taboo topics in relation to this. They believe that feminism is an international cause and organise solidarity events for women in other countries whose rights are not respected. They also work on raising awareness about feminism's intersectionality with topics such as the environment and health.

SAMS Foundation, the charitable arm of SAMS, was launched in 2007. Since then, SAMS has become one of the most active and leading medical relief organizations working on the front lines of crisis relief in Syria, neighboring countries, and beyond. SAMS has since implemented an integrated model of essential services that emphasizes priority needs, including the delivery of medical education, training, and financial support for physicians and other healthcare workers inside Syria and in neighboring countries.
