Basmeh and Zeitooneh

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a refugee-led relief and development organization responding to the acute needs of displaced and host communities to help people reclaim dignity and agency over their lives. It was launched in September 2012 with field visits to areas with high concentrations of the most marginalized and desperate Syrian refugees. The main goal of these visits was to assess needs and find gaps left by other aid agencies. They work on issues of peace building and social cohesion, civil society enablement, food security and livelihoods, education, relief, women's rights and other programs to empower future generations.
