Creative Memory

Founded in 2013, Creative Memory is a digital platform that documents and archives creative expression, art and culture, in times of revolution and war in Syria. It is an archive updated regularly and continuously growing with each passing day.It is a Creative Memory, singular, an impulse to claim appropriating "the memory", whatever memory it is. Creative Memory writes, gathers and documents stories of the Syrian people and their epic experiences, through which they regained the meaning of their social, political, and cultural lives, repossessed the public space, practiced, and experimented the act and responsibility of belonging to it.
The work on this project aims to build an archive of national intangible heritage. Protecting it is a demand and a duty, as it carries the cultural and intellectual richness of the Syrian people.
