Madaniya is creating a volunteer pool with diverse skills and talents! We're looking for individuals skilled in administrative work, communication, interpretation, translation, social media management, design, creative endeavors, conference and events organisation, and technical proficiency.

Volunteer Code of Conduct
Introduction
Madaniya is a Syrian-led and funded initiative, independent of political and foreign influence, aimed at enhancing the political agency of the Syrian civic space.

Madaniya aims to establish a diverse pool of volunteers possessing a wide range of skills, including but not limited to administrative work, communication, interpretation, translation, social media management, design, creative work, conference and events organisation, and technical proficiency.
Volunteering Guidelines
Everyone can apply to join Madaniya' pool of volunteers by submitting a volunteering request form. Approval of requests will depend on the person's alignment with and commitment to Madaniya's vision, mission, and values as outlined on our website here, and s/he's acceptance of the volunteer code of conduct (CoC).
When an opportunity to involve volunteers in Madaniya's activities arises, we will contact our pool of volunteers with a defined Statement of Work (SoW) to assess interest. Volunteers who are available and interested can then come forward, and specific volunteering agreements will be drafted based on mutual agreement.
Any volunteer has the right to suspend or terminate their volunteering by providing written notification to the executive team, mentioning the reasons for suspension or termination.
Madaniya reserves the right to terminate the volunteering of any volunteer found to violate Madaniya's vision, mission, values, or volunteer CoC.

What we expect from volunteers
Fulfilling Role Responsibilities: Volunteers are expected to meet the requirements specified in their volunteer SoW to a satisfactory standard.
Exemplary Performance: Volunteers are encouraged to perform their duties to the best of their ability, ensuring safety, efficiency, and competence in their actions.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Volunteers must adhere to Madaniya’s policies and procedures, as well as any reasonable instructions or directions provided to them.
Honesty and Integrity: Volunteers are expected to act honestly, responsibly, and with integrity in all aspects of their volunteer work.
Respectful Treatment: Volunteers must treat others with fairness, equality, dignity, and respect, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
Reporting Wrongdoing: Volunteers should promptly report any instances of possible wrongdoing witnessed during their volunteer activities to the HR department.
Timeliness and Communication: Volunteers are responsible for meeting time and task commitments and providing sufficient notice when unavailable to enable alternative arrangements.
Alignment with Values: Volunteers should conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the purpose and values of Madaniya, actively contributing to the organisation's mission.
Respectful Communication: Volunteers are expected to communicate respectfully and honestly in all interactions, fostering positive relationships within the organisation.
Confidentiality: Volunteers must maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information shared with them during their volunteer work.
Volunteers are expected NOT to
Cause Disrepute: Engage in any actions that could bring disrepute to Madaniya, including but not limited to the use of email, social media, other internet platforms, or interactions with the media.
Accept Gifts or Benefits: Seek or accept any gifts, rewards, benefits, or hospitality from stakeholders during their role as volunteers.
Cause Harm or Distress: Engage in any activity that may cause physical or mental harm or distress to another person, such as verbal abuse, physical assault, bullying, discrimination, or harassment based on gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, and race.
Provide False Information: Furnish false or misleading statements, declarations, documents, records, or claims in relation to Madaniya, its volunteers, employees, or trustees.
