Houda Atassi

Houda Atassi is the Founder and Regional Director of the International Humanitarian Relief organisation (IHR), a renowned NGO providing humanitarian and development assistance to communities affected by natural and man-made disasters.  

Ms. Atassi is an active member of the Syrian Civil Society Chamber, founded in 2016 by the UN Special Envoy for Syria, and a founding member of multiple networks and initiatives advocating for the rights of Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons.  She was elected to head the Federation of Syrian Civil Society Organisations, comprised of 45 Syrian CSOs working in various fields, for two executive sessions between 2017 and 2021.  

Ms. Atassi was recognised for her exceptional work in the humanitarian field in Syria by Care International in a ceremony at Washington, DC. She has degrees in both Architecture and Information Technology.
