Husam Alkass
Hussam Alkass is human rights defender and professional trainer with extensive experience in the fields of human rights, international humanitarian law, transitional justice and peacebuilding. He is Director of Programs and Communications for the Assyrian Association for Aid and Development, a renowned local NGO providing support to disadvantaged and marginalised communities in northeast Syria. In this capacity, Mr. Alkass leads the organisation’s work across northeast Syria in fostering social cohesion, advancing women's rights, providing psychological support, and coordinating relief and development projects. Additionally, he is also a zonal supervisor with the Amanacard field team for northeast Syria, responsible for managing logistics and relationships involved in the disbursement of financial aid. Amanacard is the first end-to-end solution for the unbanked in crisis zones.
