Nivin hotary

 Nivin Hotary is a human rights defender and champion of women's rights in Syria. She is the Chairwoman of the Women Support Unit, a feminist body of 1000 women in northwest Syria, enhancing political participation of women.  

Ms. Hotary works closely with the Stabilization Support Unit to enhance the role of women in politics and society. She led the establishment of Women Committees within the Tamkeen program of good governance to increasing the number of women in local councils and enhance their participation in decision-making processes.   

Ms. Hotary’s lobbying efforts were acclaimed internationally, as seen by the remarks she delivered twice to the United Nations Security Council about women’s conditions in displacement, and previously about civilians' conditions under siege and shelling in her hometown in Eastern Ghouta
