Meeting the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs in Istanbul

Madaniya is making significant strides in its International Engagement Program, highlighted by a recent meeting with Mr. Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye in Istanbul. During this meeting, we introduced Madaniya and its institutions, with a special focus on those active in or connected through Türkiye. We underscored the role Türkiye plays in driving the political process forward, aligning with Resolution 2254. Additionally, we acknowledged the necessity of a substantial short and medium-term effort to enhance conditions in northwestern Syria. This improvement specifically addresses governance, economic development, and the civic space available to Syrian CSOs within or working through Türkiye.

It was also emphasized that activating the political solution in accordance with Resolution 2254 carries with it the possibility of providing effective alternatives to the problematic military intervention in northeastern Syria. The Minister expressed a strong desire to collaborate in exploring creative ideas to achieve short- and long-term goals.
